A star is discovered

A star is discovered

I finally found it! ...the REAL name of one of my favorite blooms: Garden Yellow Loosestrife!

For three years, I have called it my 'Yellow Star'. There was an existing plant on the property when we took ownership. It looked overgrown, but had nice color, so I dug it up and divided it to use around the front walkway. It took off! This little wonder became my 'go to' when I needed a little color in bouquets or in my landscaping. The vase life seemed never-ending and I discovered that the stems grew roots while on display! So, of course, I made room for a few rows in my burgeoning flower field.

I have since learned that this is an invasive plant, so I am careful when placing it in my landscape. But as for a cut flower staple, it truly is a star!
